Not everyone understands the nature of a gift. A gift is an object or service provided by the giver to the recipient because a sense of generosity made the giver think the recipient would gain enjoyment or benefit from it. If a recipient treat a gift with suspicion, as if it were a bribe, worrying about what a donor wants, then the gift cannot be enjoyed. God offers forgiveness of our sins paid by the death of His Son Jesus Christ as a free gift to all who will receive it by faith(Romans 6,23; eph 2;8). Many people who desperately want know what there are forgiven live without their salvation because they cannot bring themselves to enjoy forgiveness as a gift. They figure they have to pay God back, and they know they can never match what He has given them. Stay blessed.
