Not given an update of my career for quite a while but will try to - TopicsExpress

Not given an update of my career for quite a while but will try to bring you all up to speed now. A number of you may remember that I quit Notts County after having issues with the budgets. I spent a couple of months unemployed before getting the job at Stuttgart who were 11th in Bundesliga 2 on my arrival. I was to quickly turn the club around, going 22 games unbeaten and stormed back to win the division by 15 points and seal an instant return to the top flight. We would also reach the German Cup final where we lost 2-1 to Bayern Munich who scored their winner in the 120th minute. That goal was harsh in another way too because you have to win the cup to qualify for Europe. Our summer saw 9 new arrivals including Stevan Jovetic (free), Oriol Romeu (free), Mathieu Debuchy (loan), Marouane Fellaini (loan) and Serge Gnabry (loan). We were predicted 12th but I felt we had the quality to do better and so it proved. Bayern Munich (twice), Wolfsburg, Schalke and Leverkusen were amongst the teams we beat to come a very impressive 4th in our 1st season back. Only a couple of late defeats stopped us from coming 2nd or 3rd. 4th means that we now have to win a qualifier in August to make the group stages of the Champions League but with my main focus being the league I wont be too upset if we end up in the Europa. Some players who are worth a mention: Simone Colombi: A very solid keeper who has been very reliable since joining me from Cagliari for £3.3m. Cant remember him making a mistake in 18 months at the club and would be a good signing for most teams. Only Manuel Neuer (who!?!) had more clean sheets in the league this season. Robin Yalcin: A player who starts at the club but was given very little chance before my arrival. The central midfielder is a workhorse and his consistent performances have seen him become a key part of my team. Filip Kostic: A left winger who has continued to get better. 8 goals and 10 assists in the league was a good return and he has now signed a new contract. Serge Gnabry: 14 assists in the league this season which was only equalled by Phillip Lahm. At the age of 22 he has a bright future ahead of him. Joining on a free this summer. Moussa Sow: Our top league scorer with 15 goals but sadly is on the decline at the age of 32. The arrival of Corentin Jean on a free signals the end of his time at the club.
