Not how I envisioned spending my Sunday afternoon. We got home from church today and found a couple of small pieces of our siding lying on the deck and a decent sized hole in the sheathing near the roof peak from whence the siding came. Claw marks on the surrounding sheathing revealed critter activity. Luckily, years ago I made a decent attic access from our carport attic to the main house attic so getting in was not so bad, and the repair was fairly simple, if only I could have stood up to do it. Its all fixed now with a plywood board over the sheathing hole and the siding more secure than before. Before making the repair I walked the entire attic looking for said critter, but none was present. I suspect a squirrel, although it could have been a raccoon or even an opossum. The damage could have been much worse, and there could have been a critter still present. Lots for which to be thankful.
