Not nearly as busy Easter Sunday as we expected. We will not be open Tuesday at all. Sorry folks. We need to spend the day moving into the apartment upstairs and we all just need another good nights sleep. Being a military brat we moved a lot, and I still hate it. I remember one particular move in California. Absolutely everything was loaded into the truck and the only thing left was a rather feral cat we got in Hawaii. Her name was Topaz. You could pet her, but she never let anyone pick her up. The only thing in the house was a pet crate and that damned cat. Mom went in to try and get Topaz into the cage. She managed to pick the cat up, but when she got close to the crate, Topaz went wild and ripped Moms arm open with nails and teeth. Mom nearly killed that cat, bloody arm and all, while screaming for Dad to come help her. Topaz escaped Moms clutches and off we all went to the emergency room. Mom got her arm stitched up and we headed home. Dad was going to finish off that cat. Ive never seen him so mad. Low and behold, when he went into the house, Topaz was sitting quietly in the cage. He simply shut the door and carried her out to the car. From that day on, Mom was the only one who could control that cat. With a simple raise of the hand, Topaz would freeze and lay as flat as possible to avoid Moms Wrath. Topaz remained a fairly wild cat and spent her last days on a farm as a mouser when we moved once again to Topeka Ks. Remember, we will be closed Tuesday, but Have A Daybreak Day anyway!
