Not only does it sadden me but it really sickens me with the assumptions people are making about Robin Williams death. He had so much money, fame, family, friends, blah blah blah. Yes, maybe he did have it all but material things do not make you happy. the way he chose to leave his life is not something people should throw around lightheartedly. Like they know his whole situation first hand and can speak first hand about him being selfish. I come from a family where two very close people chose that way out, one of which, as anyone who knows me well should know are my dad and godfather, a family friend I considered a brother growing up, a classmate from high school. And the woman whos life I saved because she checked herself into the hotel I worked at, at the time and tried to OD. Not only did I find her cold laying on the floor without a pulse, after her brother called and filled me in on the missing persons report etc and her being suicidal because of her mental illness, I read the suicide notes (one to her 7 year old son) to the 911 dispatcher. Mental illness is real. Suicide is not the easy way out, its the only way some people feel comfortable escaping their illnesses they think will never come to a halt. I take peoples rude responses about anyone who commits suicide personal. Even if I dont know the person who has died. Suicide has affected my life since I was 7 years old. And it doesnt get easier on the family or friends that are left behind, they just gain a better perspective of the causes and red flags. #offerhope #mentalillnessisreal #peoplemakemesick
