Not only is this my favourite song of all time, but the album it comes from is also my #1 choice. The Smiths were the #1 indie band of the 80s and #1 all time in my opinion. If you study their rocky history, youll see that sometimes a clash of personalities often makes for the best working relationships. Johnny Marrs music, Steven Patrick Morrisseys brilliant lyrics. Their relationship in music is as relevant as Page/Plant, Lennon/McCartney and Jagger/Richards. The Smiths were way ahead of their time. They are gaining millions of new fans in every new generation. I discovered them in college radio in 1983 when their first EP of Hand in Glove and This Charming Man was first released. The rest is history.
