Not sure how many of you know this, but Elbow Grease Productions, my company, first produced Behind the Scenes at the Michael Jackson Trial documentary and then it was renamed and repackaged to Michael Jackson The Trial and Triumph of the King of Pop. Cecil and I covered this trial together as strictly business partners at that time. I had a TV Show called Trutalk: Straight Outta LA that came on Monday thru Friday at midnight in the Greater Los Angeles area. We produced 13 episodes 30 minutes each and aired them. No one paid us, I used my own money, therefore I own all the footage. I didnt see Michael Jackson in my future when I decided to produce my talk show and I met Cecil after my original 13 shows were already recorded and I hired Cecil as my editor. I also had no idea that Cecils dad was famously successful in the music business and I didnt discover that Cecil Holmes (the Dad) was in the credits of MJs Thriller album until after Michael was acquitted. I sat in the courtroom and listened to testimony while Cecil was outside collecting video footage. A cute story: During deliberations no one knows when the verdict will be reached therefore it was taking a chance driving the 2 and a half hours to the courthouse to wait for perhaps a verdict. Well, this one particular day, Cecil and I went to Neverland Gates to hang with the fans hoping a verdict would be reached that day (it wasnt) and the big wide gate swings open and its one of the black SUVs and it was driving very very slowly and Kerry, the body guard that walked Michael to his seat and stayed in the courtroom with Michael, was driving. He was looking over at me as if he wanted me to come over to the SUV so I did. Kerry asked me, what do you think will happen? I said, tell Michael dont worry because theyre not gonna get him on nothing!. Kerrys body language made me feel like Michael was ducking down in the back seat listening. Because he asked me for the organization I was with, so I gave him my business card and told him that Id be on KABC talk radio later that evening. I wonder if Michael listened, because I defended him against vicious naysayers who just knew he was going to be found guilty. I held my ground by presenting FACTS about his innocence and left the callers fuming! You see, I listened to the empty testimony and gigantic holes in Sneddons case; and the clinchers for me was on day two (my first day covering the trial) the accusers sister, Davillan, was on the stand and she said I didnt know my father molested me until my mother told me. I was astounded because I took it to mean that her mother told them to lie on Michael, and when she said it again, I knew she was trying to tell that her mother put them up to it, just like her mother had to tell her that her dad molested her because she didnt know it happened (probably because it didnt). Like Maccauley Culkin said hed know if hed been molested when denying MJ molested him on the stand. I was hooked on seeing MJ vindicated from that point on. Even though I was open and seeking TRUTH, because being a child molester surely is a crime, but there was NO-THING that told me that any kid was ever molested by Michael. The rest of the testimony assured me of Michael JOE Jacksons innocence. Later that night I went on KABC talk radio again (unpaid reporter for them during the trial) and it felt so good to be right and all the HATERS to be wrong! And yes I rubbed it in their faces vigorously but professionally! So Happy Anniversary Michael, the truth will be revealed again! Oh, at the end Kerry was videotaping me. I was standing near Cecil who had the camera and was doing the recording! I couldnt believe they were filming me!
