Not to be a complete dick about this because I really dont care what you personally eat, but this photo is completely erroneous and Ive seen it a lot lately. To begin with, it implies that one bite of steak is essentially the equivalent of one piece of broccoli. A 275-calorie portion of steak (4 ounces) has 30.5 grams of protein A 277-calorie portion of broccoli is not only way more food—you’ll be chewing for a long time as you try to make it through 9 ¼ cups of broccoli—... 4oz vs 9.25 cups. For reference, there are 8 ounces in a cup. Thats 74 ounces of broccoli. Additionally it claims that the equivalent amount of broccoli has more protein than steak. According to the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service’s Nutrient Data Laboratory database, 100 calories of broiled beef, top sirloin steak has exactly 11.08 grams of protein and 100 calories of chopped, raw broccoli has exactly 8.29. But broccoli also contains none of the other vitamins and benefits you get from eating beef such as iron and amino acids.
