Not totally sure, but I remember it as being 6 people that lost their lives and many injuries due to this event. Rather downplayed by media, the actual cause of this bridge collapse was because of several heavy filled trucks exceeding the weight limit of this old construction were given special permits to park on the bridge. With the added weight, normal traffic weight added, the 35W bridge went down. The collapse was caught by a security camera. Thousands of US Bridges are in this kind of disrepair. Too expensive to fix.
