Not trying to religion-bash here or diminish anyones personal - TopicsExpress

Not trying to religion-bash here or diminish anyones personal beliefs, was hoping someone more knowledgeable could help me understand something. So, I was driving during lunch and saw one of those signs at the end of peoples driveways quoting scripture and it said something about god having given his only son for our sins. It made me feel as though were supposed to feel guilty about it. But then I got to thinking a few things about this... -why are we supposed to feel guilty about this? -this makes it seem like human emotions and individualized personality are being assigned to god as if he/it (Im not going to do that stupid politically correct bullshit of including she, so get over it now) could be constrained and defined in such a limited capacity, which I am willing to bet is the furthest from the truth. -if Jesus was Gods son and Jesus dies for our sins and if God sent him for that purpose, why would God be sad about it? Again, assigning human emotion to something that is most likely beyond feeling emotion. -wouldnt Jesus go be with God after he died? So why would God be bummed about it and hence, why should we feel guilty about it? -I could see god being bummed about it if he were Jesuss father here on Earth and was left behind after Jesus died, like Mary, but thats not the case. -if this is worded to make people feel guilty and guilt them into religion, why? Seems like a manipulative tool for control over others hearts and minds, to me. I guess this is one of those instances where man made god in his own image and these questions are why Ive never been one much for organized religion.
