Note that Putin is only claiming the right to invade to protect Russian speaking people. Russian is an official language in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, the Moldava provinces of Transnistria and Gagauzia, the Georgian provinces of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, and some municipalities in Romania. Russian is widely spoken in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, among other areas. Of course, there are still some Russian speakers in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Bulgaria. The Russian army will be just as welcome in Hungary as it was in 1956. There were 854,955 Russian speakers in the United States as of the 2010 Census. So dont worry a bit when men in unmarked green uniforms wade ashore at Brooklyns Brighton Beach, or drive their machine gun-mounted armored personnel carriers down the Sunset Strip. They are just there to protect Russians. They wont bother the rest of us if we dont bother them.
