Notes from Alex: All authority in heaven and on earth has bee given to me (Mt 28.18). There is not one job, one role, that Jesus is assigned to do, that he lacks the right to do, or the power to do. He will make you accountable for your words (Mt 12.36), and for your unbelief (Jn 8.24). He is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them (Heb 7.25). There is no job that he cannot do rightly, adequately, and completely. He has been given all authority...and in spite of this fact, we still struggle to submit ourselves to his authority. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might bs the Lord of both thr dead and the living (Rm 14.9). Christ Jesus became the Lord or all....which means he has all authority over all. Will Christs authority be seen today in your submissive attitude, or will Jesus think, based on the way you live, that you consider him equipment to an IRS tax man, having some minor level of authority, but making it our job to make sure he doesnt step over his boundaries? He is Lord. Let us honor him today aa such.
