Notes from today’s sermon… And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. - Acts 2:42 Consider the believers conduct then to our conduct… today. They “continued” in their devotion on the same accord WANTING to do better with the SAME mission. They didn’t give up, give in when things “hit the fan”. TOGETHER they continued PRESSING toward the mark LIFTING one another in weaknesses. We all get weak, down and out at times easily forgetting about Jesus. We need witnesses empowered by the Holy Spirit to remind us of who we are in Christ because it is only by the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT that truth is revealed. It is the Holy Spirit that brings change. UNITED we STAND…DIVIDED we FALL. Unity is VITAL in the Body of Christ. Together, oneness with all walking the SAME walk and talking the SAME talk. Whose walk and talk? …just JESUS. Having all things in common with Him..our LORD. Satan attempts to KEEP us divided. In the church and in families division HINDERS/PREVENTS growth. Believers TOGETHER sought, trusted, believed, WAITED for the Holy Spirit to come upon them. They knew they had to be brave, courageous, DEPENDENT on God…praying, fellowshipping while sticking together. When people are together…where there is no DIVISION... there is no devil. Everything we do should be based on CHRIST with joy and delight in being TOGETHER, Christ centered and sharing joyfully. LOVING…just because. They received the WORD together closing their ears to anything else NOT about Jesus. How do we treat each other now? BACK BITING and HATING when we should be holding each other UP. Your problem should be my problem. Your pain should be my pain. Your trials should be my trials. Your hunger should be my hunger. When we need we ALL need…oneness, togetherness in the Body of Christ. Moses’ arms finally became too tired to hold up the staff any longer. So Aaron and Hur found a STONE for him to sit on. Then they STOOD ON EACH SIDE, HOLDING UP HIS HANDS until sunset. - Exodus 17:12 Moses’s arms got tired and he began to lose strength. Moses’s friends, who STUCK with him, SAW his hands go down and they got a stone to SUPPORT him. They all fought TOGETHER. They didn’t begin to talk about how weak, feeble Moses was becoming or accuse him of lack of faith. They didn’t run and spread his business in the streets…no…THEY CAME TO HIS AID AND LIFTED HIM UP. Made Moses STABLE. Sat him on the ROCK to keep him in place while his BROTHERS and SISTERS held him UP. The rock is STRENGH. Who is the rock? OUR ROCK OF SALVATION….JESUS. We all TOGETHER should be getting a piece of the Rock. The Rock will pull families together. The Rock will bring peace on your job. We should stay together in Jesus Christ never straying from the Word of God, not living our lives according to “opinions” but the TRUTH and glad we are together..not complaining but saying Thank God.
