Noting a friends post that trombonist and bandleader Tommy Dorsey was born on this day (in 1905). Searched for a video of my favorite TD tune to post...this ones been on YouTube for five years, but I somehow never came across it until today. From an appearance on the mid 50s TV program Stage Show, which started as a summer replacement series for the Jackie Gleason Show and eventually filled out an hour which also included a little sitcom called The Honeymooners. Considerably brisker tempo than other Dorsey performances of this tune, with great solo work from brother Jimmy on clarinet and trumpeter Charlie Shavers.
