Noura Erekat: Before dawn yesterday, (Israel) issued a deportation order for Khalida Jarrar, a Palestinian MP member from the PFLP and the former Executive Director of Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association from her home in Ramallah to be confined to Jericho for the next 6 months for being a security threat to the area. This amounts to forcible transfer (ethnic cleansing). More importantly perhaps is that it demonstrates the futility of self-rule even in the Area A bantustans in the West Bank. Meanwhile, Israel continues to detain 36 other members of the Palestinian Legislative Council members in Israeli jails.
