Nov 23 Four days home and things are a little better every day. We are learning how to do different things and different ways, still a real challenge Fridays appointment with the oncologist went well, little tiring and had to load in the rain. The Dr was real pleased with her blood count, white cells were good, he said he had another CA125 test for Cancer done a week or so ago and her count was down to 109, good considering it was at 1901 before the surgery. Normal is 0 to 35 so we have a way to go yet. He also was very pleased with the progress of her legs, he said her right leg is at a 3 and left one is at about 2 1/2. He said at stage 4 you would be in a walker so praise God we are on our way. The home health care nurse came out on Friday too and redressed her wounds on her back and front, still a little opening at the bottom of the stitches front and back, but they are healing. Supposed to have the PT person come out next week and maybe someone to help with a bath. Will be a cramped week with the holiday but will fit it all in somehow, plus I have to get to Walmart between 6 and 7 Thursday to get my 65 inch TV for Black Friday. lol As usual God is so faithful and that book Jesus Calling has ministered to us so much, today I got the verse on page 257, Check it out, down about half way it says, You see miracles happening all around, while others see only natural occurrences and coincidences. I thought back to my notes I had been taking when this all started, (I planned on doing a blog or something later on all this) and at the top of the paper I had titled it, Coincidences or God orchestrated? Amazing how God speaks to me with my own words. Judy got the one on page 176, and the part that really jumped out at us was Learn to laugh at yourself more freely. Dont take your circumstances to seriously..... later it says Laughter lightens your load and lifts your heart into heavenly places. Laughter raises to the heavens and blends with angelic melodies of praise. When you see the picture of me in the hoya lift you will see why it did. I was trying to show Judy how we could try walking with her in the sling...when I got in it to show her we both bust out in laughter until we were crying, it was just so funny for her to see me in it. You will probably get a good laugh when you see it too. She was finally able to lay on our own couch, such a pleasure to get out of the hospital bed or wheel chair. Amazing how you take so much for granted and dont realize how just the littlest things are impossible now. We are learning to enjoy the things in life that dont matter to a lot of people. Judy had a hard time leaving Rehab, she had grown so close to some of the PT and OT people and they had a special place in there heart for her too, below is a picture of a couple of them, they were her cheering squad. More than a few tears were shed when mile stones were passed and when it came time to leave. We hope she can get back for outpatient soon as I am not able to exercise her as much as they can and we dont have the equipment here. I have bent your ear long enough but just had to share what is going on.
