Nov 4th is a mid-term election and I live in Indianas 9th district - TopicsExpress

Nov 4th is a mid-term election and I live in Indianas 9th district so I wanted to share what I had seen on both Todd Youngs website(the incumbent Republican) And Bill Baileys website (the Democrat challenger) Indianas 9th district congressional race includes Bloomington and most of Southeastern Indiana. Todd Young (R) The 3 top things on the front page of his website are: 1. Repeal Obamacare [This obviously can not happen until Republicans could possibly win the Presidency in 2016. I personally feel the ACA is a net positive for this country and trying in vain to repeal it over and over again for the next two year will only have a negative affect.] 2. Save the VA [Young wants to save the VA by enforcing more regulations and having a stronger form of socialized medicine available for our vets. This is the opposite of what he wants for the rest of America. The one obvious thing that will help the VA run more efficiently is investing more money to help our vets in their time of need. Young doesnt seem to say anywhere on his website that he would provide more money for the VA. He only seems to talk about cuts to our budget and tax cuts for companies.] 3. All about jobs/Save American workers [Young talking about repealing Obamacare to save jobs? He talks about how we used to have jobs in WWII and the 1950s and then he talks about one development job he was able to bring to Indianas 9th district. Then he says we need to cut spending and cut taxes on corporations. I could not follow how he would save the American worker] Todd Young seems to have very little substance to the main things he is running on. Of course Im fairly partisan so you should check it out yourself, but I didnt understand what he would actually do other than cut more spending and cut more taxes and vote against Obamacare over and over again. Bill Bailey (D) Bailey has 9 top issues on his website but 3 for the 9 seem to correlate to Youngs top 3 issues: 1. The ACA [Bailey talks about a time in the 1980s when he and his family did not have Health insurance. He goes on to spell out how the ACA has been good for our country and where it has not been perfect we should continue to work to make it better. 2. The Veterans Affairs [Bailey simply says the VA problems can easily be fixed. He says, By simply funding the necessary staffing of the VA, we should set a goal that by June 30, 2015, all outstanding claims would have been successfully and completely processed, and that no claim received after that date would require more than six months to be processed. 3. Economic development [Baily talks about raising the minimum wage as well as investing in the infrastructure of our nation that would give hundreds of thousands of people good jobs leaving behind an infrastructure and economic development that would have a multiple generation benefit.] Anyway, its important to vote. If you live anywhere in America then you have a congressional election coming up on Nov 4th and you might also have a Senator up in your state. Look it up. check it out. or not, whatever. who cares.
