November 1, a new chapter to begin: Sparkles Dutch - TopicsExpress

November 1, a new chapter to begin: Sparkles Dutch Adventures! A new month, and a new kind of life for the last of Brocades babies. With both brothers having moved on to their new families, Sparkle can go places much more easily and we started by having her walk along in the morning and tonight. She now has her 2 crates and slept soundly in the bigger one bro Shine had vacated yesterday. Cate had her out with her when she prepared herself, that way she could keep an eye on Sparkle when they were both in the bathroom. Well, the newspapers were well used afterwards! ;-) I also got up so the little one could move about some, if she wanted but without pesky brother(s) she preferred to snooze on the couch until I took her out with daddy. It was chilly and rather wet so I put the coat on her. Again it was strange to walk around in a coat but soon she moved as if it wasnt there ;-). Not that she did anything, waayy too many distractions, leaves blowing by, traffic, interesting smells in the grass....but at least she had a morning walk! Around 9.15 I put her in the day crate with a bowl of food and took the remaining 4 Silkens (Cate had already walked Dutchie) for a much needed trip to the beach. The weather was still grey & wet but as Id be wet when walking in the neighbourhood as well, I opted for the beach. The boys loved it, low tide had left them a broad beach to race on! Miz Brocade is coming back in shape as well, she ran off with Yasera in hot persuit! Once the boys (Paladin & Aponi) were off leash, they first tackled Brocade and later found a young chocolate lab to chase. The Lab wanted to play but was a bit scared when all 4 Silkens came to her. After running a while she stopped, got sniffed over and left alone, not exactly what she was after! Oh well, they all had a good run, even miz Yasera did her best, showing that a senior Silken still has some speed in her! I had some shopping to do so I stopped along the way but all in all miz Sparkle had been crated app.2 hours, and not a peep when we came home! What do you mean, puppies cannot be left alone?? Give them a safe crate, food and a chew and just leave.... Of course she had to go when coming out of that crate and with grass right in front of the door, it was easy for her to relieve herself, good girl! She doesnt seem to miss her brother, is not looking for him. Being alone means we will have to play more with her, also on the grassy patch. I had her out to run but should have brought a toy for her to retrieve, now all she could do was run after me (and Im by no means as fast as the boys were ;-) ). Oh well, soon shell be on the beach, hopefully to meet small dogs she can play with.... Tonight Cate carried her in Shirkhans carrier bag, part of the walk and she was very attentive, didnt miss a thing! Halfway the walk she was taken out of the bag and walked home, together with mom, dad and granny (Cate had the other 3 boys). Tomorrow I intend to take her on her first bus ride, also in the carrier bag and I think she will like it! To be continued...
