November 11: LifeSmarts Quiz… and a Prize! Read on... A 5-question consumer rights word problem using vocab from the week 11 word list found at: lifesmarts.org/resources/content-vocabulary-of-the-week/ (Word bank: Social marketing, advergaming, bait and switch, generic, infomercial, loss leader, negative option, popup, product placement, rebate, unit price) Identify the correct vocabulary word for each blank: I went grocery shopping to get food for dinner. I was intrigued by the turkeys, but then I realized they were frozen solid. The store was offering them as a ____(1)______ at .59 cents per pound. When I found the soup aisle I compared two brands of clam chowder using the _____(2)_____ to compare prices per ounce. I decided to go with the _____(3)_____ brand because it was less expensive and I didn’t need a fancy label on my soup. Checking out I saw the 9-volt batteries that had been a _____(4)_____ on my favorite sitcom the night before. Just like the mom on the show, I had to change out all the batteries in my smoke detectors at home. I saved my receipt so I could send in for the _____(5)_____ offered on the batteries I bought.
