November 17th 1990 I remember not realizing it was your brothers - TopicsExpress

November 17th 1990 I remember not realizing it was your brothers birthday until your grandpa called and said pretty cool how you had them both on the same day I remember how I was planning on naming you Taylor because I was totally positive your were a girl, and when I saw your broad nose and strong thick 11.5 lb body, I said quickly He looks like a Jacob! I remember staring at you for hours and saying to anyone near by, just look at him you seemed like a miracle, so round and pink and perfect. I remember how I kept you entertained while I did house work by tilting my standing mirror over you while you lay on the bed, you loved looking at yourself, giggling and cooing, (something you never grew out of) I remember when your big bald shiny head grew into fluffy blonde hair that grew straight up like a baby chick. I remember that the only baby food I could get you to eat was carrots and squash and how you started to turn a bit orange because of that. I remember your intense focus when trying to accomplish something. I watched you once try to put a shoe lace into the hole with your left hand while sucking your right thumb until I distracted you 20 minutes in, your breathing was so deep, I could hear it from the other room. I remember your love of animals, how you lite up and stomped your feet around dogs. I remember how you knew things you were never told and couldnt have seen, but knew none the less. I remember you having your own language at about 3 years old that only I could understand. I remember you wanting something off the counter in the kitchen and saying some of this, some of that? to me, because you couldnt see up there, but you knew thats where the good stuff was. I remember asking you if you wanted to be batman for halloween and you saying ya... but I dont I remember the way you hugged my leg and screamed when I left you at kindergarten, and how I cried all the way to work for weeks. I remember how I would wake up with your head in my armpit sucking your thumb and how hard it was to get out of bed and not just snuggle up with you. I remember you as a man Jake, a great strong, intelligent man, but on your birthday... I remember you as my baby, my big blue eyed, grinning, old soul, one of a kind little baby. I miss you, today and everyday.
