November, 2006. My sister was detained by ICE (Immigration Custom Enforcement) and facing deportation. She was held in a jail in Atlanta, Georgia far away from us. Could not get her hearing because ICE could not locate her or her paperwork in their system. Mom and I already went to the Baltimore ICE office twice and they wouldn’t give us any correct info. Would not give us their names or badge numbers. On our 3rd visit to ICE after sis’s hearing was cancelled for the 4th time, she’s been in jail for 3 weeks now, ICE continued to lie and not give us a straight answer. The situation seemed hopeless, and we both left the office dejected. When we got in the car my Mother started to cry, I held her hand and we prayed. I turned on the car radio and Bob Marley’s “Every Little Thing Is Going to Be Alright” was playing, I told Mom “Mom, listen the song says ‘everything is gonna be alrite’ “, she stopped crying and gave me a smile for my sake and said yes it will be, because its in the Lord’s Hands. I knew God was speaking to us in that song, which is not a gospel song, nevertheless I knew it was God speaking to reassure us that He had the situation in Hand, if we would only trust Him. One week later, Mom and I were sitting in an Atlanta, GA courtroom and we sat in the courtroom all day, no sister, no paperwork, no way that her case should have been heard or anything done – BUT THE FAITH OF JESUS WAS IMPRINTED UPON OUR HEART’S AND IN THE “ELEVENTH HOUR”, AN IMMIGRATION JUDGE WHICH WE WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE, WHO STILL DID NOT HAVE HER PAPERWORK, SIGNED A RELEASE FOR MY SISTER WITH ALL CHARGES DROPPED IN 15 MINUTES. The point?? God will use whatever to send encouragement, whether its in the form of a Rastafarian’s song, or whatever to remind us that all our situation, griefs, stress, etc., are all in His Hands – if we just allow Him to handle it. youtu.be/7x6zdms3vMw
