November 3, 2013 10:56 a.m. = 164 I had butternut squash steamed and sprinkled with some flax seed this morning. It was really good and it gave me an idea for a breakfast cereal made of really soft squash mushed with flax seed, since I can’t enjoy oatmeal and such anymore. The flax seed is also supposed to help control blood sugar, so I’ll check my levels in a few hours and see if it does. I know the chia helps. I bought what I thought was pure chia yesterday and it turned out to be a mix of barley and some other stuff that is in a cereal form and because it has the oats and barley, it has higher carbs than I can have. Who eats 2 tbsps. of breakfast cereal? That’s what I get for trying to shop fast. I missed reading the label well. I am going to try and use it for energy bar treats though with the cauliflower rice flour substitute, the chia super foods boost, the flax seed, and the PB2 flour like mixture. I’m thinking about making a small batch of bars with nuts today. Maybe it will come in handy there.
