November 30, 2014, in response to the new guidelines of Facebook - TopicsExpress

November 30, 2014, in response to the new guidelines of Facebook and of articles l. 111, 112 and 113 of the code of intellectual property, I declare that my various legal rights are attached to all my personal information, paintings, drawings, photographs, songs, texts, writings, comments, etc. published in my profile, Timeline or elsewhere on Facebook, or found by Facebook by tracking my web usage. The commercial use in any form of the foregoing requires my consent in writing at any time. The same applies to any pages for which I am, have been or may in the future be responsible. Note that all photos and drawings I have posted are already copyrighted in the photo/drawing and I release no/zero rights to any of my photographs or drawings anywhere posted, forwarded, shared, copied, printed, re-used, etc. With this posting on my Facebook Timeline, I hereby inform the administration of Facebook that it is strictly forbidden to disclose, copy, distribute, disseminate, re-use, or take any form of action against me, based on this profile and its contents, as well as other materials and information posted by me anywhere on Facebook or found elsewhere on the Internet by Facebook tracking my web usage. These restrictions and assertions of my rights also apply to workers, students, agents, contractors or employees under the direction of Facebook, including confidential information in the contents of my profile. The violation of my privacy is liable to punishment by law (ucc 1-1 1 1 308-308-308-103 and the Rome Statute), and violation of my rights to materials I post is covered under US and other copyright and intellectual property laws. ____________________________________________________________ Facebook is now the main publicly used source of social and other shared information worldwide on the Internet. There may or may not eventually be a Class Action lawsuit over Facebooks use of our posted personal and shared information in various formats; whether or not they acknowledge the validity of posting a statement like this at present, it at least sets a marker for future abuses of privacy and copyright by Facebook, which is already manipulating our news feeds, and collecting and selling information about its members online activities. All members are encouraged to publish an announcement of this type, or if you prefer, use this version as is or adapted to your needs. Anyone reading this text can copy and paste as a post (not share) to your own Facebook page. This will give you at least some of the protections of copyright and privacy laws for your Facebook activity, and place Facebook on notice that you regard your posted information as your own information, not theirs to use, buy or sell as they wish. Thanks to Gary Downs for his posting on this topic, shared by his sister Char Downs. You can use standard copy-and-paste processes from your pc or whatever device you use to access Facebook to put this on your own profile and Timeline.
