November 8th Announcements: **Wrestling Tryouts and Practice is cancelled for today (11/8). It will resume on Monday 11/11** SENIORS: • Students who have not paid their second deposit for the senior trip and have not spoken with Mr. Barron about payment arrangements need to do so immediately. There is limited space on the bus available (4 spots max), any student who does not make their next deposit will either be dropped from the list or placed on a waiting list until a spot becomes available. • Young Ladies interested in Converse College, the admissions rep, Carrie Tucker will be sponsoring a free bus trip to their next open house on Saturday November 23. Registration Info available in the school counseling office. • Seniors remember to turn in a copy of your college acceptance letters and scholarship offers to Ms. Fields or Mr. Campsie in the school counseling office SOPHOMORES: • Sophomores interested in the IB Program, please sign up in the IB Rally on Nov 12th. Sign-up sheet is in school counseling office or see Mrs. McCall. GENERAL: • Win a free Chick-Fil-A breakfast for your first period class by bringing in non-perishables and toiletries for the Fort Food Pantry. The first period class to collect the most food wins!! • Low Country Tech Academy is hosting Cyber Saturday this month and the theme is “Coding”. Low Country Tech is a new program in CCSD and is located at: 1002 King Street, Charleston. This is a free event and we hope that anyone interested will enjoy. They can sign up online at: IT-oLogy.org • Come out for the Dance Departments student choreography showcase this Friday 7pm. Tickets are $3. • Any junior or senior interested in the military, please stop by the counseling office to sign up for the “lunch and learn” on Nov 14th, 2013 during all lunches. • If you ever wanted to see what it is like to wear the badge and think that you have what it takes to make real decisions, see Officer Younts or Officer Muck for details about joining the Police Cadets. • Do you think that you have talent? Well we want to see it! It is time to start thinking about the annual FDHS Talent show. This year’s talent show will be held on Friday March 28, 2014 so start getting your act together now! If you would like to participate in the talent show, then you must pick up an application from one of the following teachers: Mrs. Schultz, Ms. Knight, Ms. Zayac, Ms. Mascaro, or Mrs. Styer or in the front office. Applications must be completed and returned to one of these teachers no later than February 1st. • The ASVAB test has been rescheduled for November 13th. Please sign up in the school counseling office. • Students please return library books when you are finished to avoid fines. Also, you may renew your books to avoid fines, but you must bring in your books to renew them by the due date. Overdue notices have been placed in English teacher boxes. Please bring non-perishables and toiletries to your first period class and leave it in the Food Pantry box or bring them to Ms. Scherer in room 814. • National Honor Society- Students Helping Students – Peer Tutoring Tuesday and Wednesday 3-3:30 in room 815 • Speech and Debate: meets Tues 6:50 am-715 & Thursday 3-4 • FCA- Fellowship of Christian Athletes: Thursdays- 6:55 am in room 122.
