November 9th holds more importance to me than just the day I was born because, at the very moment that I was making my way into the world, an incredible event was occurring in Germany to unify its people and put an end to a war and oppression that had been lingering for years. I will forever be fascinated by the destruction of the Berlin Wall because it reminds me that even though war and violence occurs in the world, eventually it comes to an end...and when it does, it is quite beautiful. I always think of this whenever there are chaotic moments in my life, so the idea of the Berlin Wall and what knocking it down represented will always be deeply rooted within me.
