November is a bittersweet month for me. I was born on a Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. It was always a special holiday as well as my favorite month. I now look back and am thinking today of the people who I lost in November. My mother passed away 18 years ago , 20 days before my Thanksgiving birthday. She was my bestfriend. Claudia Daly , my first mentor on my journey as an early childhood teacher. I will never forget her. I am amazed at the number of times I quote her in classrooms each day. Denise Busby Horn, a dear friend who taught me so much about attitude and how to live life to the fullest. Lyle Sparks hired me to work for Tri-County Special Ed. In 1976. He gave me a chance to do whatI loved all of these years. Ryan Foley. A special young man gone too soon. I am thankful on day 15 for having had these people enrich my life forever.
