Now, 8 Panvel-Mantralaya bus services via Freeway. MUMBAI: The state transport corporation will launch eight bus services on the Eastern Freeway, connecting Mantralaya to Panvel. The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) buses will help not only government staffers who have to attend office at Mantralaya, but also others who stay in places like Nerul, Belapur and Kamothe/Kharghar and have to commute to south Mumbai every day. "Besides trains, Navi Mumbaikars will now have another mode of transport to south Mumbai, and it will be a faster one as the buses will ply through the snarl-free Eastern Freeway. The buses will also be of great help if Harbour trains stop working during heavy rain," said MSRTC managing director Deepak Kapoor, the brain behind the project. The first service will leave Panvel at 8am on Monday. Two new buses, with double doors, will ply the route.
