Now I have Dad waiting on out of hours doctor. He has a catheter and we have to be so careful he doesnt get a UTI which he may well have. i rang the out of hours NHS !11 this morning to ask for a prescription as anti biotics as soon as possible can stop an infection turning into something far more serious if caught early. But they said, it wasnt life threatening so please ring your GP in the morning- in other words piss off ( pardon the very intentional pun) and dont bother us on a Sunday. So now he is in a lot of pain, the catheter is partially blocked and clearly needs replacing, seems he is slightly overdue for this anyway. So ring them back and this time a much more helpful person, but was told the Devon Doctors would be in touch within two hours. Over an hour has already gone and no call yet. Pam now has a new neighbour in the bed next to her and had been shouting all night as has dementia, and so Pam is exhausted from a failed attempt to get her into the shower yesterday- was in far too much pain, and is now dosed up on morphine. So much for me resting and trying to get better myself when I have more and more stress loaded on me by the hour.
