Now I know sometimes it is best to just let things go but man is it hard. Especially when you take it upon yourself to always own up to your own mistakes. I try to apologize when I am wrong about something or react in a poor manor or even just to do the right thing and be the better person. Seriously , how many times can you go out of your way to keep communication open with someone that refuses to give an inch. That is openly disrespectful to you,& your family. ( which is their family too). People that refuse to take responsibility for their actions and words and realize that they not you are the reason your family has issues with them. I have for over 10 years given all I can give. I have made sure everyone visited or they were invited over. I have tried to down play anything that made my kids feel less important. And even when the opportunity presented itself, when we were no longer speaking and I could leave it that way, Nope I forced the issue of getting them back in our lives. For what I thought was the best for my husband and kids. Now I am not so sure, my husband and kids keep getting hurt by their actions and my kids feelings toward them is getting worse because of how they treat me. Wish I had answers. So for now I will just keep my distance and watch things play out. Still being the better person and not allowing my irritation to come out in full force. Wish me luck.
