Now I know why they call it the Taupo Cycle Challenge!! 160kms on a bike, hills are hideous but with a plan to survive. Really proud and happy with myself, despite rain, wind but most of all my biking mate wasnt there. First time I did an event by myself without Tarps Umata. Had some chain trouble at the 70km mark and had to wait 20mins for a mechanic to fix my bike. It was so nice to see some friendly faces this morning, Moana Tapsell, Slimo, Shirley Day and Louise. Legs are sweet as just rehydrating with a few of the finest refreshments with my boys. However one confession I was embarrassed about lol...... Ha something Maori Hill is a mutha f@$&er, my legs cramped half way up and it was get off or fall off!! So I had to walk cause I couldnt hill start the second half of the hill. Oh well lol!
