Now I personally dont agree with the views of these folks. I dont think making a cake compromises their convictions. But what I think is besides the point. How can they be sued for discriminating against gay marriage, when the State of Oregon itself was discriminating. This goes back for the need for balance. Why couldnt the lesbian couple just go somewhere else? Why did they find it necessary to destroy these people? They obviously didnt refuse to sell to them based on their gender. According to this man he had sold them cakes before. Couldnt the gay couple respect THEIR views as well? Tolerance is a two way street. There has to be SOME give and take. There has to be SOME compromise by both parties. At least in an instance like this where the gay couple was affected in a very minor way. Though gay people do have to make some demands, they should also strive to show some respect for people that disagree. I think conducting themselves in such a way would actually earn them more respect. Respect is important to have, and thats not something that can be forced. What do you guys think?
