Now all of a sudden because there is a high amount of Arsenic in Rice cereal the pediatrician association says its ok to start oatmeal and Barley at 4 months now and provide little to no rice cereal. So I am assuming that there was never any scientific evidence that a babys belly couldnt digest these grains. Because why now would you recommend they start them. This can be so confusing to new parents. These are the same people telling parents to not feed infants cereal from a bottle although some babies with reflux can have it (their bellies are stronger I guess...super sarcastic) and they say before 4-6 months do not feed them cereal because they cant digest anything but breast milk or formula because they produce little to no Amylase until 6 months...really but studies already show that although babies dont have a large production of Amylase when fed rice cereal at ONE MONTH OF AGE they found the broken starch/glucose/carb in their stool. Other countries feed their children all sorts of different foods yet we are the overweight country. The human body is amazing and still very unknown. People need to research THOROUGHLY before making decisions. So everyone do what works for you.
