Now back to the car accident and my time in the hospital. I have heard a lot of different theories about what happens when you die… some say you lie in the grave until Jesus comes back and then we those who are truly saved will go to heaven and those who aren’t will go to hell. I have also heard we go one way or the other the instant we die. Then of course we have those who don’t believe there is a heaven or hell or even a God. Well… I know personally from true life experience what actually happens when you die and that the Devil is real, Hell is real and that God does truly go to any lengths to get your attention! I was very critically injured in that car accident it almost killed me. I was very close to dying but God spared me. I don’t know for sure how many days I had been in there but not many I had the accident on October 17th 1990 so about a week and a half later while I was on the morphine drip machine for pain. You know the kind that is hooked to your IV and you just push a button but it’s hooked to a time thing so you can only push it every so many minutes. Well I had just pushed it and this nurse came in and gave me an injection of pain medicine directly in my IV and it overdosed me. I flat lined. The alarmed sounded but I had already left my body I was kind of like hovering or floating above my body that was in the bed and I could see everyone in the room working on my body trying to revive me but that wasn’t what was concerning me. I was on the 7th floor of this hospital in a room with no balcony and my window didn’t open. There were demons many howling and screaming and screeching my name with claws and fangs I could see them and smell them and feel them in my soul. They were saying things I will never repeat as long as I live I don’t think I can even if I wanted to. They were coming for me and I knew it; it was horrifying beyond any words I can write. Then praise God they shocked me back into my body. I will never forget it as long as I live it has stayed with me all these years. It did not change my attitude at the time though. A short time later on my birthday to be exact November 8th I was in a foul mood feeling sorry for my self, angry that I had this 13 ½ inch incision from my diaphragm to my pelvic bone straight down my center. Mad because I was not able to go party on my birthday feeling like my body was ruined after all it was my money maker. Well in walks this nurse only she isn’t dressed like any of the usual nurses in scrubs. She is in a white dress and white hose, shoes, and a white hat with a little red cross on it. Her name tag said Mary. She is carrying a round small but very elaborate birthday cake that says Happy Birthday Yvonne. I asked where it came from and she told me it was from the hospital they give them to all their patients who spend their birthdays in there. I said great. She asked what I was so glum about I said obviously it’s my birthday and I’m spending it in the hospital! I was yelling and being really rude I didn’t even say thank you. She walked towards the door and turned and looked at me with a smile and said Yvonne remember you could have spent it in the cemetery. Then she walked out the door and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Wow how stupid was I? I got on the call button and the nurse came in and I told her I wanted to speak to Mary the nurse that brought me the birthday cake. She said what birthday cake? I said this one right here the one the hospital sends to everyone on their birthday. She looked at the cake and said I have worked here for 9 years and the hospital doesn’t give out birthday cakes. I described Mary to her and she said no nurses have dressed like that in 30 years at least and there are no Marys here. I am head nurse on this floor she is not here. I knew she was an Angel not then but I drove them nuts for a week trying to find her and I know it now. God was trying to get my attention. I am not a stupid person but I do tend to do things the hard way.
