Now dont get me wrong. I remain privileged, as a journalist, as an arts aficionado and in my NGO work to rub shoulders with the rich and infamous, Struggle stalwarts and Steves, pimps and presidents et al. Those occasions are normally accompanied with many lunches, brunches, cocktails and dress-up dinners....you get the drift. Equally honoured to have attended Madibas 1-year anniversary at the Union Buildings and Freedom Park. But, sitting there, I was thinking out loud. Is that what he REALLY would have wanted? Such an exclusive event followed by an exclusive sumptuous lunch while we keep on preaching to follow in his legacy?
