Now for a daily Pokemon set! Ill start with Vivillon, the underestimated little butterfly that can absolutely rock an unprepared team! Vivillons ability Compound Eyes comes in VERY handy, allowing Vivillon to use moves such as Sleep Powder and Hurricane with near perfect results! First, get a Timid one, training it fully in both Special Attack and Speed. Its moveset should include Sleep Powder, Substitute, Quiver Dance, and Hurricane. Let it hold leftovers, so it may recover while it is behind substitute. The ideal opponent to send Vivillon in against is one that cannot outspeed Vivillon. Support Pokemon are good targets for Vivillons onslaught. Also take note of grass types or pokemon with Overcoat on the opposing team, as they must be dealt with first, since Sleep Powder cannot affect them. Sleep Powder should be used immediately, allowing Vivillon time to set up. After an opponent is put to sleep, the next step should be to set up a substitute, then Quiver Dance behind it, putting the opponent back to sleep and subbing back up whenever it wakes up and breaks substitute. After youve accumulated as many boost as you feel comfortable with, let loose with Hurricane. Its accuracy is boosted thanks to Compound Eyes, and with enough boosts it can take down even bulky targets that resist it. The increase in speed that Quiver Dance offers also helps it outspeed pretty much the entire game. Imagine Brave Bird being able to cause confusion. Defog and/or rapid spin support is essential if Vivillon isnt being used as a lead, since Stealth Rocks hurt it very badly. Supporting Vivillon with your own entry hazards is also beneficial, since it helps Vivillon with sweeping, free of worry from potential Sturdy or Focus Sash holders. Other than that, if Vivillon has the odds in her favor, she can humiliate an opposing team with ease, looking adorable as she shreds opposing Tyranitars and Garchomps. This powerful little bug can be seen as an insect version of Darkrai, putting enemies to sleep time and time again while setting up worry-free. Even Rock types cannot stomach Hurricane if it has been boosted multiple times. A great partner for Vivillon would be any Pokemon who can support a safe switch in for Vivillon while crippling the opponents team. Klefki comes to mind as it can set up screens, easily paralyze the opponent, and set up spikes. Another good teammate is Skarmory, who can set up either rocks or spikes, then shuffle the opposing team with Whirlwind to rack up entry hazard damage before Vivillon finishes them all off with boosted hurricanes near the end of the match. Any pokemon who can take care of Grass types, such as Talonflame, are also highly appreciated by Vivillon. That being said, Vivillon is not perfect. Many priority users and speedy pokemon can give Vivillon a bad day. Talonflame, Manectric, and the like all spell bad news for the little butterfly. Counters for these Pokemon, such as Wash Rotom for Talonflame, or a Choice Scarf user to deal with faster Pokemon, are necessary for Vivillon to function. Vivillon cannot take a hit for any reason whatsoever, so switching out to Vivillon is generally unadvised unless its on a predicted Earthquake. Also keep mind of Taunt users such as Sableye and Whimsicott. Vivillon is an absolute monster if used correctly. Its basically Darkrai in insect form, with an ability most Pokemon would kill for. A 90% accurate Hurricane along with ~95% accurate Sleep Powder would be enough to cause many players to quiver in fear. And if Vivillon manages to nab a +6 boost, its basically game over for your opponent. Try it out whenever you can! It might just help you win games!
