Now for the Willamette Mission thank you list! If I missed anyone it was not intentional! What an event. great crowds and a record set for ambulances coming in, even a reenactor going into labor. Talk about authenticity. To ALL OF YOU for a great job in battles and demonstrations. We incorporated some new things and things we had not done in a while--the raid on Union town, being allowed to capture the flag (a great honor, and the Confederates treated it with respect), horse artillery firing by prolonge, cavalry on both sides taking hits off their horses for each other--and some new things like Col. Eakman being shot off his horse by a sniper--AWESOME! To ALL OF YOU for a great job on cleanup, finished inspection this afternoon, NO FINES! The park seems extremely happy with us. To all of you for your patience after the last battle and waiting till 4:30, the park really appreciated being able to get all of the public out before our rigs started pouring in. To my assistant Mike Heino, Howie Loewen, Jon Leaton, Earl Bishop, and John Mueller for helping out with fence rails , communications and in so many other ways. You are all appreciated. Kate Eakman, Bill Coleman and Scott Ingalls--great job on announcing and creating that educational link for the public. Karen Bell of the 79th NY for graciously offering to host modern camp on short notice. To Scott Ingalls for his foresight in arranging for nighttime security--we had no modern vehicles in camp other than authorized ones ensuring a better experience for all. And last but certainly not least the wonderful staff at Willamette Mission State Park--Jeremy, Bonnie, Carlie (who is new on staff and had never seen a reenactment before), Dale, and all the Park volunteers. They were great to work with. Looking forward to a great 25th anniversary reenactment at Willamette Mission next year.
