Now it is clear in my mind. After Ive met and personally talked the Provincial Archivist of the Order of the Augustinian Recollects, REV. FR. EMILIO QUILATAN, OAR, 4 important things that gave me shocked from his statement: 1. The Augustinian Recollects brought the 2 ORIGINAL IMAGES/STATUES OF THE BLACK NAZARENE IN INTRAMUROS, MANILA! 2. BOTH THE BLACK NAZARENE WAS NOT CAUGHT BY A FIRE AND DURING THE GALLEON TRADE THERES NO FIRE THAT HAPPENED! 3. OPPOSITE TO WHAT WE KNEW WHY THE IMAGE OF THE BLACK NAZARENE IS BLACK, IT IS BECAUSE THE IMAGE IS MADE UP OF MEXICAN WOOD AND IT IS NATURALLY THAT THE WOOD TURNS INTO COLOUR BLACK AFTER MANY YEARS AND IT IS NOT BECAUSE IT WAS CAUGHT BY A FIRE! 4. ONE OF THE TWO IMAGES OF BLACK NAZARENE WAS DESTROYED DURING THE WORLD WAR INSIDE THE CHURCH OF SAN NICOLAS DE TOLENTINO IN INTRAMUROS, MANILA! Until today, the Provincial Archivist is still digging up about the exact date when the Augustinian Recollects came from Mexico.
