“Now it was the governor’s custom each year during the Passover celebration to release one prisoner – anyone that the people requested. One of the prisoners, at that time, was Barabbas, a revolutionary who had committed murder during and uprising. The crowd went to Pilate and asked him to release a prisoner as usual. ‘Would you like me to release to you the “King of the Jews”?’ Pilate asked. (For, at this point, he realized that they had wanted Jesus arrested out of envy, yet it was meant to be in the fulfilling of prophesy.) But, at this point, the leading priests stirred up the crowd to demand the release of Barabbas, the murderer, instead of Jesus.” Mark 15: 6-11 What a prophetic look, from two thousand some years ago, at the state of this world today. We in this nation, as a whole, glorify the heathen while crucifying the righteous; all simply out of the rebellion installed in each of us at the moment Adam and Eve took a bite from the fruit. The religious leaders of the time of the “Passion” lived solely upon the letter of the “Law” given to Moses, yet did not know what an intimate relationship with God was. They could not see the blessing, the sacrifice that God was making for them due to their own self-righteousness. Where do you stand today? Are you living by the Old Testament Law? (Which by the way, is impossible to live up to). Or, do you choose to live by the standards that were set forth by the Son of Man, which are simple: Love the Lord you God with all your heart, soul, mind, and body; also love your neighbor as you love yourself. This isn’t hard to do Dear Ones. All it takes is a dying to one’s self and arising as a new creation, in Christ, by grace and through faith in Him. Living under the old law/religion is a miserable way to live; all the while, learning to live in a relationship with Him brings forth all the Fruit of the Spirit, in one’s life: those being love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control [Gal. 5:22-23]. I am off on another journey today. Heading back to my Mom’s for a couple days. When I gave up living out of a suitcase several years ago it felt good to finally have a place to call home. All the travelling is tiring, yet at this time in my life I wouldn’t have it any other way. Tell the ones you love that you love them today, for you may not get another chance. Don’t ever put yourself in a position to have to live with that regret. God bless you all, brothers and sisters in Christ. Now go out and carry the Cross; deliver the Good News, to the world, that Christ was born, He lived, He died, and He arose on the third day; all for one purpose: that you might have everlasting life through Him. Luv ya mean it!!
