Now mind you.... These results are based on actual teacher performance, results, and evidence from the classroom. These results are from a state based evaluation system that puts an extreme amount of pressure on teachers to complete. So if we have mostly effective or higher teachers, just proves-the schools are not failing the students. The students and their families are failing to take education and learning as a priority.... lets create an evaluation for home: 1. Does the parent get involved? (come to parent teacher conference, school activities, return teacher phone calls, etc) 2. Is the student doing homework and spending time at home studying? (Making learning at home a priority) 3. Does the family require the student to go to school, attendance? (No student should ever miss more than 28 days in a school year, would you keep your job if you took 28 work days off? And for Pete sake, stop scheduling family vacations during the school year, or at least take them when school is not in session) 4. Is the student and the family making sure the student is well rested? (Yes, make your child go to bed, turn off the video games, get off the phone, and go to sleep) How would you score?
