Now that I am home and have gotten settled back in for the most - TopicsExpress

Now that I am home and have gotten settled back in for the most part, I feel it is time to reflect on one very exciting week. Our trip to Boxbrough MA was a long one, and one in which I was not excited to make but because Augie had qualified for the top 20 event, Randy Huelsemann, was persistent that we attend this years National French bulldog Club of America show. We had no expectations at all for this years nationals especially being an owner handler in a sea of top handlers and dogs in the breed. The week started out good with Alana taking 2nd in her class and Augie making it to the final 10 dogs in the Independent specialty. On Wed. Evening the Top 20 event was held, all went good, I did not feel nearly as nervous as I thought I would. I again had NO expectations and was just there to have fun and show Augie as I have done in the past but this time on the red carpet! Much to much to my surprise Augie was awarded Best of Breed in the Top 20 competition-First time an owner handler achieved this. I was quite star struck and in disbelief when my arm band number was called. I thought there must have been some sort of mistake. This is an evening I will never forget, as I unpacked the rosettes and gifts, I still can not believe that we achieved this highly prestigious award. As the remainder of the week went on I felt like I was in a fog or some sort of a dream, because this surely could not be real! At the national show Alana again took 2nd and Abby took 4th in their classes. Augie again made it to the final remaining dogs and was awarded an award of Merit. Needless to say I am one proud owner of a handsome Frenchie who is not only a show dog but a wonderful family pet and best friend. I have so many people to thank starting with my husband who is the driving force behind the scenes and the best Kennel assistant one could have! Thank You Randy Huelsemann from the bottom of my heart, this trip would not have been possible without you. Thank you also to the many friends who have supported the A Team, and were cheering us on from afar. I wish you could have been there. Thanks to the judges James Dalton, Karen Cram and Paul Pearce for the lovely comments on Augie and the top honor of winning BOB for the Top 20. This has been a once in a lifetime dream come true, one that I never thought would be accomplished. Hugs and Love to All…..Andrea and Augie!
