Now that Youtube has finally decided to be my friend again, I can eventually write this ;-) On sunday I took Boris out for his first ever dressage competition (only my second one ever) and I was so nervous (especially as Ali couldnt come with us, because she was teaching). Bev took us to St. Leonards Equestrian Centre in Launceston, supported us and read our tests for us, thank you soo much Bev! At the beginning of the week we had 3 days of preparation with Sue Edwards , which helped us a lot to set ourselves up for success. This was Boris first time going to dressage, so my goals for the day were only to get him calm and relaxed and more confident throughout the day. We arrived with lots of time to prepare and warm-up and he settled down so quickly. In our first test he was a bit excited because there was so much to look at (peacocks, lorries, horses, people etc. ) but he tried so hard! In the second test he was already much calmer and did even better =) In the end we finished being 7th out of 14 in the first test and 5th out of 12 in the second test. I´m sooooo proud of my big black horse! He couldnt have tried any harder to be a good partner =) =) =) A big thank you to Alison for letting me ride Mr. Boris, to Bev for taking and supporting us, Fleur for taking some lovely pictures and coming over between taking more dressage pictures at a different location an hour ealier, chasing sunsets later and a million other things she was doing that day :D and to everyone else who was involved and supported me =) Here are the links to the videos on youtube: https://youtube/watch?v=PuY7yPLFUDg https://youtube/watch?v=Cpng34XhfMA&feature=youtu.be Tania Working Student
