Now that campaigning has started, most of the candidates are openly talking about the many serious problems at the Sheriffs Office. Fact is; all of the same things were wrong in 2010. Two of the other current candidates for sheriff were also employees at that time, yet I was the only full-time Sheriff Office employee to step up and run for sheriff. I risked my job, paycheck and retaliation. In fact, even though I like all of the other candidates and consider them friends, I have to say that nobody running this time ran last time although the problems were very well known to everyone. I followed the advice given to me by my grandpa, that I should stand up for what is right regardless of the consequences. I would like to ask for your support and your vote as I again run with the same selfless commitment to making the Sheriffs Office a place that is respected instead of feared, that is without politics or favoritism and is run in best interest of the citizens of Iredell County and the employees that serve them. -Mark
