Now that everyone has started seeing Cap, Ive been fielding these - TopicsExpress

Now that everyone has started seeing Cap, Ive been fielding these questions a ton today--at least 10 of you have messaged me asking these, so heres the FAQ: Q. Eva, when will X-Men and Spiderman meet the Avengers on screen? A. Never. 3 major studios own these characters and wont share. Think of it this way...Marvel wants to make the most money, so does Sony and so does Fox, so ideally you would think they would make their powers combine to make massive movie dollar incarnation Captain Planet but what will actually happen is a squabble fest of Sony being angry that Marvel gave Chris Evans more screen time than Andrew Garfield Or that Iron Mans dialogue is better than Wolverines. The salary on all these actors also would be insane. Each studio would end up fighting so much that this film would be in development hell forever. Q. Eva, who owns the rights to each Marvel property? A. Fox has Fantastic Four and X-Men and all related characters to that. For example the X-Men universe encompasses X-Force, New Mutants, X-Factor (even some S.H.I.E.L.D related characters like Val Cooper, which is why we will never see her in the Avengers because she was more affiliated with X-Factor). This also includes Deadpool. Sony has the rights to Spiderman and all Spidey related characters - Venom, Morbius, Black Cat and so on. Universal has Namor. Most of you have no idea who he is, so lets move on. Marvel owns everything else and recently re-acquired Daredevil, Punisher and Blade. Why is this? Because Marvel was in trouble financially back in the later end of the 1990s (like 1998-2000) and almost went under. Jim Lee talks about dodging this bullet and going DC instead on FatMan on Batman. Anyway, they sold the rights to their best selling titles --Spidey, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider and Blade to various movie studios to save the publisher. After the success of Bryan Singers first 2 X-Men movies and Sam Raimis first 2 Spidey films, we are where we are now. Q. Eva why doesnt Marvel just buy back Spiderman? A. Why dont the Golden State Warriors just buy Lebron James? Thats silly a silly question, isnt it? We all know thats not the right question...the real question is would the Miami Heat just sell LeBron James? Are you insane? No. They wouldnt give up their star player, let alone the greatest in the NBA atm, so why would Sony sell their cash cow... not gonna happen when they can make billions over the next 5 years with their own Spidey franchises. Besides, Iron Man 3 and the Avengers made more money than the Amazing Spiderman, which means everyone that saw AS saw the Avengers and Iron Man 3. Marvel wont make more profit, they will lose profit buying Spiderman. Secondly, do we really want the MCU that crowded? I like seeing a Spidey film, X-Men and a Cap film in the same year. Dont you? Marvel is one studio, they cant make that many movies at once. Q. Eva why are Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in both Age of Ultron and Days of Future Past? A. Because the twins are special and were more than 50% between both titles of the Avengers and X-Men. A special deal was made between Marvel and Fox over these two characters. Marvel can use them, but cant reference the word mutant and they cant mention or be related to Magneto. Fox can use them but they cant reference any of these two characters relationships and stories via the Avengers--such as Scarlet Witch being married to Vision. Hopefully this PSA helps. Oh and go see Cap. Seriously, like right now. Stop reading this and go see it.
