Now that the Election is over, some people are celebrating victory. I know I am not. Ive never been vocal about Medical Marijuana, because I was afraid that it would reflect my family. Well now, I am speaking out. Its a huge defeat for me as a cancer patient going through chemotherapy. Put yourself in my shoes for a minute: I have Pheripheral Neuropathy (related to Essential Thrombocynthemia) and it cripples me. It affects my mobility and breathing. There were many times that I was unable to eat for days, due to chemotherapy. I never cared for marijuana until recently when I was at my wits end, literally shaking and crying. I even considered suicide, because the pain was unbearable and it WILL only get worse. It wasnt until someone who suggested Mary Jane when the pain meds did not help. It helped take the edge off the pain and I was able to eat again. Now, for you nay-sayers to claim victory and label us pothead wanna-be is just hurtful. Im a mother of 4 and its unfortunate that youd be ok throwing my ass in jail if I ever get caught trying to find relief for my pain, so I can do things with my children. Getting off my soapbox now.
