Now that the Final for the Mutua Madrid Open has been set, the draw for the Internazionali BNL dItalia in Rome has been released. This is the final Premier 5 event this spring before ROLAND-GARROS starts. This is not an easy tournament but the draw in Rome is not quite as deadly as the draw in Madrid or that killer lineup was at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart. Nevertheless, there will be some interesting first round match-ups and the two women in the final will not be Maria Sharapova against Simona Halep like it is this week because those two women have drawn into the same quarter of the tournament, in the second quarter of the draw, along with Ana Ivanovic. Serena Williams is back in action at the top of the draw with Dominika Cibulkova, Sloane Stephens and Petra Kvitová. Jelena Jankovic and Agnieszka Radwanska anchor the third quarter of the draw with Flavia Pennetta, Caroline Wozniacki and Canadas Genie Bouchard. The bottom quarter of the draw is anchored by Li Na and Angelique Kerber with 2013 Wimbledon Finalist Sabine Lisicki and Italys Sara Errani. While you will almost certainly see a Williams - Sharapova semi-final at the top of the draw, predicting the semi-finalists at the bottom of the draw will be a trickier proposition.
