Now that the representatives to the CONFAB are known... (An open letter to Comrade Yinka Gbadebo led NANS representatives) - Eniola Opeyemi (cde) PART 1 Finally the stage is set for the CONFAB, the over 400 delegates will determine the future of Nigeria even after this generation. I took time to read through comments on the delegates, even when contrary opinions clashes and no one bother to chart a progressive way forward and expectations, even when silence is a foul play many decided to stay by it still I prefer to speak ahead than to speak after. I congratulate those that made the list ahead of the final outcome of the event, hitherto, my full congratulatory message will come after the event. Many issues that requires more concentration ranks from a full qualitative education, unemployment, security, corruption amongst others. Just recently, Nigeria celebrated her centenary, yes, an amalgamated geographical location is hundred (100) years old) but we have seen the youths deprived of full participation in the politics of our country, Nigeria, the first bone of contention is the constitution stating clearly that an eighteen years old citizen has right to vote, its clause prevented such citizen(s) to be voted for; there is nothing stopping a minority(youth) to be a member of a state house of assembly, a voting campus community to be represented by student and other related examples. Yes, we demand an equal right and fully stated objective to the age bracket of youths in Nigeria, its only in this part of the world that a fifty years old man still claim to be a youth when they already have a local government of kids like Nigeria superstar 2face anticipated, joke aside, many issues requires a precise definition. We need true federalism that wont be a capitalist based, not a house built on shabby foundation,a nation that will be more practical than theoretical, plain than tigerish. Education system in Nigeria has put more believe in certificate than entrepreneurial skills, I come across a graduate with a first class at a firm only to realise he cant write a comprehensive application letter at a go. This system has failed us, what is our population advantage going to yield us? Still clear in memory, when I was kid every one prefer a Japanese product to a Chinese toy, but now, most of us are left with no choice than to patronise the once rejected, they have developed while we are still dependent. Our polytechnic are meant to salvage us not consume without being productive because of the lack of government supports,i believe me we need a change in our educational system, not forgetting the HND/BSC disparity. ...To be continued! #teamKAKAAKI
