Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, Has God indeed said, You shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said to the serpent, We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die. Then the serpent said to the woman, You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. Gen. 3:1-5 Satan told Adam and Eve that: 1. There was something good that God didnt want him to have. 2. A little more knowledge about good and evil was all he needed to be godly. 3. Adam wasnt like god. The truth: 1. God wont withhold any good thing from His children. 2. Adam was created in Gods image. He needed nothing. 3. Adam was Gods son. Religion peddles the same lies today. Religion says: 1. God isnt really that good - religion criticizes those that preach a good God and turns what is supposed to be good news into weekly tirades, angry accusations and sweaty threats. 2. Believers need to be focused on their good and their sin. 3. Youre never good enough. Keep working, keep coming, keep giving and maybe one day youll be good enough for God to accept you. The truth for believers: 1. God is that good. Jesus took our sin and Gods judgment and wrath against it away on the cross. 2. Focusing on Jesus, not our good or our evil, brings transformation from glory to glory. 3. Your a son and daughter of God. You have a new spiritual DNA. Your born again, a new creation and perfect forever - all by the power of the cross!
