Now the video has been released we know what happened. The original story had came me was the child was when the police got there he was with some friends putting the gun in his wristband. Theres was no context for what happened before that. So, the police were called because the boy was playing with the gun - including pointing it at people. Ill admit, that looks like a real gun. From what I know, the first thing kids will do when they find a real gun is show someone like a friend or something. Not take it out in public and point it at people. And, theres the He thought he was so ghetto and Acting like a gangster. So, what? Maybe he was acting what people keep showing him in the movies! (See? I can play that its always someone elses fault game, too.) That doesnt override common scene. He was a kid playing with a toy, like kids do. Even the dumbest of kids would know better than to take a real gun outside and point it at people. The people he pointed it at casually passed him. The person that called 911 said the gun was likely to be fake, but that part magically went missing in the rely to the cops being sent out. Theres a guy pointing a gun at people out in public and not shooting anyone - nor has he shoot himself yet in the mist of all his fooling around. ITS FAKE. As for he reached for the gun when the police rolled up it may be the video, but I didnt see that. The cop car pulled up right in front of the child, and the next thing I see the child is bent over from being shoot. I dont see the child pointing the gun at the cops. The child is wearing a hoodie with a white middle and black sleeves. I didnt see the black sleeves move over the white chest to indicate any sort of pointing. He was walked when the car suddenly pulled up and they shoot him. As I cant see, maybe he had the gun in his hand, but they could have shoot him in the hip or the knee. I thought the process was you pull up a distance away front eh target, tell them to put their hands up and investigate from there. I mean, I could easily be wrong, but for the sake of the community we see the consequences of shoot first ask questions later and missing pieces of information - for the piece earlier. And, theres a lot I can say about the end of the video about what the cops are doing, and how they took their time doing everything, but because I dont know how that part works I can give an opinion that probably doesnt match up with how the situation is suppose to be handled. Maybe they did everything they were suppose to do in a timely manner. To me, it looks like theyre dancing around like fools. The timing for this to happen couldnt be worse. Its not just about Mick Brown. Not too long ago we had a white male shooting some college kids. Its ok for someone to say theyre going to do something, and then they do and people are all like ok what a tragedy. The other white male from Colorado College steals cars and masturbates upon being found and arrested - thats ok. Hell be fine. A kid is playing outside with a toy gun, not hurting anyone (annoying, yes. hurting, no), gets shoot on sight. I cant even. I dont want to.
