Now, there arent many things that bother me anymore. I suppose that we, in law enforcement, get a bit callousedover the years, and stuff just doesnt affect us the same as it does other people. With that said, after just about 13 years in law enforcement, animal abuse is one of the things that still bothers the heck out of me. Dogs lack the ability to defend themselves against humans, and they are devoutly loyal to their owners. In this case here, the dog was just doing what it thought it was supposed to do, and got hacked up with a sword. Under NO circumstances is animal abuse acceptable. To ease everyones minds, we have had someone come forward who has offered to pay for the dogs vet bills, and is looking to adopt the dog into their home. So I guess that in a way, this story has a happy ending. Bad guy goes to jail. Dog goes to a loving home. Not quite the same as a Disney movie, but Ill take it.
