Now yesterday in Lubbock Tx, the State unveiled a statue of a man Timothy Cole a college student that was wrongly convicted for raping a fellow student and subsequently sentenced to 25 years. He professed his innocence since day 1; while awaiting the outcome of numerous appeals including DNA testing- he died of natural causes He was exonerated (after he died) based on eyewitness misidentification and unvalidated or improper Forensic science. I commend Rick Perry for keeping his word to the family to increase the compensation for exonerees to 80k per year served. I also feel as tho the prosecution team, the Judge as well as the juror shouldve been reprimanded or received some ramifications for playing a role in this travesty of justice. Due process doesnt mean due justice.
